Henley Royal Regatta. Surely nothing epitomises a quintessentially English summer more than this traditional sporting event.
Sooner or later, any summer sporting event with Royal patronage becomes an opportunity for the British (and especially the English) to indulge in their penchant for dressing up, eating strawberries and drinking Pimms.  Henley Royal Regatta is no exception and even if you aren’t one jot interested in rowing,  Henley  is a wonderful opportunity for people watching.
The thing about the Regatta is that while it is a top event in the international rowing calendar, it is also one of the most important events of the English summer social season. For visitors, it is a fabulous place to watch the English upper classes at play. And the best part is, it is one of the more affordable hospitality events to attend.
